Well, over the last few months, I have been paying particular notice to the politeness, or lack thereof, of drivers on the road.

As I do the City run every morning, you get the people who cut you off and do stupid things, but hey that’s kinda expected in peak hour traffic, but what really shits me is when you are really nice, wave someone in, and you don’t get a hand out the window, a wave, a nod or the indicator thanks (left left right).

And I have noticed more and more in the past few months, that the Melbourne roads have lost their friendliness, which sort of disappoints me…. as I am always one to acknowledge.

But enough of my bitching and moaning…. :P

Well, the week so far, not to bad, about a 6/10.

Having a day off from OH tomorrow and doing a Microsoft exam and then spending the arvo at my new client, and all in all, it should be a fairly chill day. Nice to have a change of scenery.

Looking at the diary today, it was quite scary to think that I have about 3 weekends free between now and Christmas.

And to think that we are almost at the end of September…. my how this year has flown.

But hey, it’s been a pretty good year so far, I have my health, I have a job, I have a successful business, so I really can’t complain.

Well, time to crack open to Microsoft books, and pop some music on.

Ciao.

Well couldn’t really think of a title for this one. Don’t know why…..

Well the start to the week has been nice and busy. Finishing off the final touches to the server upgrade, and plenty of work for new client, who decided to change their hosting, not tell me and bugger up their email big time…. well hey, that’s what clients do best … :D

Keeps me in a job. :)

Well, tonight, I have hit a brick wall, the body has had enough, and needs a good night sleep. After 114hrs of work last week, I worked out that I ended up with about 7.3 hours left in each day, to which, 3.3hrs was sleeping, 30mins was getting ready and the rest in traffic…. what a life…..

Well today, had a Microsoft exam which I didn’t have two seconds to study for, so of course, failed terribly, which was expected, and have another one Thursday, which hopefully I can do some cramming tomorrow for.

Well, time for some din dins and then to just crash for the night…. the body is telling me that I need to sleep.

Well, it’s been a week of shitloads of work and not a lot of sleep.

Between picking up a new client and the major upgrade at OH, it has been just a little bit busy to say the least.

Well, the server upgrade, went quite well. A long weekend, but it’s all done, all working, and I don’t think that we’ll have to many issues. Back at work at 6am for the accounting software to be installed, and then out on the road all day configuring the sites to get them back online.

The week ahead, well another flat out week. Full on day tomorrow, Microsoft Exam Tuesday, Another one on Thursday, then out at a new client on Thursday Arvo, and Friday… who know, im sure something will pop up….

Well, time to catch some ZzzZzz, another early one in the morning… :(

Well tonight I have a house full of people…. yes, my mother in her state of insanity, decided to let my sister have all of her friends over for a “House Party” for her 18th…..

Just what I don’t need when I am flippn’ tired and could quite easily have crashed and slept…..

Oh well, what better to do than blog instead… :P

Well, this week has been fairly steady so far. Monday was not too bad, just chasing up the odds and ends from the weekend, Tuesday was a long day. I started to install the new server last night, so that there is less to do on the weekend, or more time to do other things, and tonight, well, yes, a house full of people when all I want to do is sleep after an… interesting … day at the office after the Exchange server decided to shit itself… :(

Tomorrow, have a meeting with a new client to discuss their IT needs, and then into work for another thrilling day….

What’s on for the weekend…. Well you guessed it, a fun weekend at the office….YAY!…. Get the new server all up and running and then have Adam’s 21st on Saturday evening. Then back to the office on Sunday, followed by a 6.30am start on Monday with an appointment with the accounts software people…..

Well, time for some dinner and to finish prepping this paperwork for tomorrow.

Well, to be woken at 3am this morning to be told there was a fire at Luke’s Scout Hall was not how I expected my day to start. Everyone is fine. Luke did a great job in keeping it all together :)

Today, just having a bit of a catch up this arvo. Just setup a laptop and scanner for Adam so that he can scan his photos for his 21st DVD, and Ben is popping around to grab some Scout badges and drop some stuff off. Then this evening, headding out to go and see Little Fish with Kate and her fam and a few friends down at Rivoli which will be good.

Little Fish has had some amazing reviews, some saying that it is the best Australian movie since Lantana, which stared Anthony LaPaglia, Geoffrey Rush, Rachael Blake, Kerry Armstrong, Barbara Hershey, Vince Colosimo & Glen Robbins.

If you haven’t seen Lantana, it’s a must see, great Aussie movie.

Well,

This has been a blog dragged out by a visit by Ben and it’s now about and hour and a half since I started it :P

Oh well, time to get ready to go out.

Ciao.

Well, it has been a sad day.

Today went to the funeral of a friends Mum. So sad… The speaches were touching, a lovely service.

I really was happy to see all the family and friends, all so supportive. The positive vibe in the room was just amazing.

Home for the rest of the afternoon. Just tried to do the RD Contest log and it only has 200 odd contacts when we had well over 800. :(

Back to work tomorrow, and Fox Hunting tomorrow evening.

My lord, I can’t believe I have gone this long without blogging.

Well last week was absolute hell trying to catch up. I just felt like I was getting no where. But finally, starting to get back on top of things which is a good feeling.

Well Tech.Ed is now all over, and man what a great conference, so informative! My brain is still sore!

Well the weekend was mass catch up, invoicing, paperwork, sleep! Sunday had lunch with Jonathan and his family for his 21st, and had a short ride on the motorbike, but it was a little bit wet and slidy.

Have a server migration to do next week as well, which has been keeping me busy prepping for.

On a sad note, a phone call to a dear friend yesterday revealed news that shocked me, her Mum has passed away. Will mention no names due to this being a public site.
My thoughts and prayers are with them and their family.

Since that news, my week has been quite somber.

Didn’t have a wink of sleep last night, and was a bit of a zombie today.

Had a Microsoft exam this morning, and passed that, so that’s another one under my belt.

Not much more to report on at the moment. Just feeling pretty empty….. haven’t felt like this since I lost Josh.

Well… time to crash and attempt to sleep tonight. Off to install a DSL connection at 8am and then have the funeral in the arvo.

Sep 04

Well, it’s all slowly coming to an end.

I have just finished up at the OH offices with all the technical stuff, I am not just sitting in the cafe next door having a coffee and some lunch, while I work on the report for them.

Well, all in all, a good week. I was feeling all nice and relaxed until I started working again yesterday, but hey, I guess that’s to be expected after a whole week of Microsoft conference.

Well I can now officially say that I have a certification! LOL

I got my email this morning saying that I am now a Microsoft Certified Professional :)

Personally, I still like the current letters after my name… Greg Lipschitz (B. B Arts, Hp, Gp, G.O.D.) which works out to be, Bat Bull Shit Arts, Head Pleb, Grand Poobah, and of course, GOD! :P

But I guess I can add MCP to the end of it too just to ruin it all. :P

The weather in Brisbane has been very muggy the last two days. Got rather chilly yesterday evening and breezy, looks like it is going to do the same again this evening, as the cool breeze is just starting to come in.

Whats on the cards for this evening, wll a nice relaxing trip back home! I fly out of Brisbane this evening at 19.50 and get back into Melbourne at 22.10.

Quite looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again! :P

I think the thing that I am least looking forward to is the mound of work that I have to catch up on tomorrow!

Well, I’ve just ordered some lunch, yes, a very late lunch, but lunch never the less, could even be breakfast, actually, no I had coffee for breakfast :P

Well, I think that’s enough for today. Time to put the brain into standby mode and sit here and watch the world go by for a while.

Ciao.

Part 1….

Wow, and what a week it has been. My poor brain is absolutely frizzeled, but, on a good not, a shit load more aware.

Microsoft Tech.Ed is now finished, and currently I am sitting on a train somewhere between the Gold Coast and Brisbane. You ask, “how in gods name is Greg on the internet on a train?” Well no, they don’t have wireless here on the trains, but I do have this very sophisticated tool on my iBook called “TextEdit” :P

So yes, this is a pre-blogged blog I guess you can call it.

Being back on public transport sure is interesting, so many interesting people to look at and observe. There is the struggling muso, the cute business women, the Friday night party animals, the school girls who probably should be home and each has told their parents a different story to where they are, the copuple who support the Greens :P wearing a very old Beatles t-shirt, and reading trash mags, and as always, the hippy bum. Still yet to see a seagul with one leg but hey, you never know.

Tonight, just staying down in Fortitude Valley and tomorrow have to do some work at the OH offices in Brisbane. Do a bit of a hardware and software audit, install the new VPN router and de-commission the old one, and then just do a bit of a general clean up and make sure that everything is running as it should be.

If all goes well tomorrow, then Sunday will be a day of relaxing. Most likely will go for a bit of a trip into town for the day, have a late breakfast in a nice cafe, might do a bit of shopping, and then fly out tomorrow evening at 7.50pm and arrive back in Melbourne at 10.10pm. Might even call Qantas if all goes well tomorrow and see if I can get my self on an earlier flight.

Well it’s starting to look like I am getting closer to the city again, just looked out the window and it looks a bit more civilized (1839hrs)

Well, time to put the lappy away, and I think that i’ll finish this when I get back to where I am staying tonight. All being well I will have a reasonable internet connection!

G

Part 2

Well, I have now arrived in Brisbane. After a fun experience on the Queenslane public transport system, I have managed to break the wheels off my suite case, which made walking from the station to the hotel…. interesting….

About 9 Blocks, up hill, with a bloody heavy suitcase!

Not my idea of fun, but hey, good excercise I guess…..

So got here, had a quick shower to cool off, and I think it was cooler in the hot shower than out of it…. and then scooted next door to the coffee bar for a coffee and a few beers, and even some rabbit food for dinner.

Now, just came back to my little abode here in down town Fortitude Valley, sitting on my mega fast 28.8k Dial up connection… :( There weren’t even any wireless access points available to try and hack into… :P

Tomorrow, off to the office about 500m down the road for a day of work.

That’s enough for today…

Have a good weekend.
