Well it’s good to see that tonight the new season of Secret Life started :D

Yesterday was a sad day, with the funeral of David Harris, what can I say but many great words said, and as per most funerals, sad, sombre, and all the rest of it. Not a lot to say really. Rest In Peace.

This week has been fairly busy so far. Seems to be plenty on which is good.

Well only 32 Days away from Chrismas, I look back on the year that was and what a year it has been.

Still lonely in life, still searching for that something that who knows if it really exists… It’s hard to explain, but it’s sort of the feeling of emptiness I guess.

Too much work and not enough play…. who knows… whatever it is, I’m sure it will come to me in my sleep, at some stupid hour just like most things.

I lay awake the other day just starring…. starirng in the darkness, not sure what I was thinking, but from what I can remember… I don’t think it was much at all really.

Popped into Ben’s today, to find Gricey and Maha there. Was great to see them. Both looking very well and Maha looking ready to pop. Due March 11th, They are out here for David’s Brothers wedding.

Also had the pleasure of meeting the parents of the Bride, Kristies folks.

Have been on the air a fair bit since getting my Amateur Radio Licence (VK3FUNK), and the new foundation licence is certainly getting a great response in the Amateur radio community.

What’s on tomorrow… well off to a client in the morning, then have to pop into another in the arvo if I can get hold of them, possibly down to Strictly Ham in the arvo to drop some stuff off and then nothing planned in the evening… might end up doing some on site work to get a VPN going, but i’ll leave that for tomorrow.

Well that’s enough rambling for tonight. Always good to get some shit down on “virtual” paper.

Well it has been a fairly productive weekend. Yesterday I spend the good part of the day out in the shed cleaning up. I have filled 1/2 a garage with old crap so that was certainly worth it. Pruned back all the over grown vines and cleaned the cobwebs, removed the rotten shelving and replaced it with new shelving so that I have somewhere to store all of my boxes and stuff.

So I now have storage space….. YAY! Can start moving some shit out of my bedroom!

Yesterday evening, went around to Ben & Kristie for dinner and to play with a radio.

Today, had a good sleep in, and then did some work. This arvo pulled my radio out of the car to try and fix it. There was a nice capacitor that was no longer soldiered in, so I fixed that up and then cleaned all the dust and gunk out of it and popped it back in the car.

All being well, VK3FUNK should be on air by the end of the week. The ACMA called me on Friday for my photo which I sent up via Express post on Friday, so if Australia Post deliver on time, then I should have everything by Friday! :)

On the cards for the week ahead?
Have a full day of work tomorrow, Tuesday lunch with Adam, Wednesday Global Rags, Thursday and Friday haven’t filled yet, but as per usual, no doubt they will.

Well, I think I might head back out and move some more crap around before the parental unit gets back home.

Well, with only 40 odd day until Christmas, it is sure starting to get busy.

As they say, Tis the season to be stooooopid!

The rollout work for VicGov came thru yesterday which is good, so that should keep Ben and myself busy until Chrissy, and between now and then I also have a few new servers to commission and am very busy doing with with Rudi which has been a great experience.

Fox Hunting tomorrow night which should be a bit of phun, haven’t been for a few months so a night out doing some good old nerd sport and wild driving should be just what I need.

Well time to go and have a surf of a few gig guides and see what moooooosique is on for the next few weeks so that I can calm the soul with some live music :)

Well today was a fun day.

Passed my amateur radio foundation licence along with a few others from the SRESU to make us some of the first people in VK3 (Victoria) to obtian our foundation licence.

Thanks to Phil and the SRESU team for a good day.

I do like that the exam paper had some comedy to it….

Q: What should you do if your friends suffers an electric shock?
a) Call Mayday
b) Give him CPR
c) Prod him with a hot soldering iron
d) Wait a few minutes…..

It certainly provided some entertainment to the whole event.

The end of the week panned out with quite a rush with work, with 2 days that was ment to be finishing off dvds interupted by “small” jobs that ended up taking all day to do, a few late nights were put in to finish the job and get it delivered as promised by Friday afternoon.

What looks like another busy week coming up again.

Monday, have 2 or 3 clients to see, and then SRESU in the evening
Tuesday, off to VTF to finish some work
Wednesday, hopefully a catch up day
Thursday, Rebuilding a server for Maccas
Friday, … who knows, I’m sure something will fill it by Monday afternoon :P

For the rest of the weekend… well tomorrow have to drop some paper work down to the BAT Cave (Branch Activities Training Centre) for the couse I have finished today, and then if the weather holds out might get out on the bike for a few hours and clear the mind body and valves :P and maybe a few tanks of petrol too.

Well for now, finish some reading on a few security sites and downloading some security podcasts to listen to during the week.

Well at the moment, my office is a DVD burning haven. I have DVD’s everywhere!

Burning 50 odd DVDs for a calisthenics concers (thrilling stuff) and have to print and final them all.

Long process…… these are the days when a duplicator would be really handy….

The week so far has been pretty steady. Work wise, not too bad. Today while finalising these dvds to burn I did a massive clean up of all my cables that I had lying around and made up some new tubs of cables so that I can actually find things when I’m looking for something.

The rest of the week should be fairly cruisy, have to finish off the printing of the DVDs tomorrow and then might make it out to a few clients, and Friday the car is in for a service, so a day in the office doing paper work will be on the cards, and then in the arvo have a Big Noise gig to prep for.

Mum’s birthday on Friday aswell, so today I asked her what she would like as I hate getting useless presents, and the response I get…. A replacement numberplate for her car….. What The! Oh well, I told her that I’d get that but that she has to come up with something better than that aswell…. as a replacement numberplate I don’t think quite cuts it…. :P

Dinner with the fam on Friday night (thrilling) and the weekend I’m on a training course.

Well, back to burning and some music and coffee :)

Well what a busy week it has been. Work during the week has been nice and busy which is good.

With Monday being ok, and Tuesday being Cup Day, Wednesday was just nuts, Thursday not too bad and Friday off to Scouthike, which is where I have been all weekend.

Met up with Bron for lunch on Monday which was nice :D

We certainly got the weather on our side for the weekend, it was just beautiful weather.

Must have reached about 28 on Saturday, and we had a few tired looking kids last night, but was over all not a bad weekend 1st aid wise.

Today, another great day, was forcasted at 30, and was about 22, when we were driving back to Melbourne it certainly got warmer.

Now, a warning to anyone travelling with Ben…. Don’t let him direct you where to go!

On Friday on the way up, I turn up this track, looks like the right one, he’s like, no this is the wrong one… later after dinner Marcus says he’ll take us up the back way, and sure enough it was the same track that I was headding up originally!

Then today on the way home, we did this great big bloody loop around the forest, a detour of 40 minutes and 30km, which took us in circles and was a complete waist of time, once again, the “navigator” sure in hell wasn’t navigating, but hey, was a good excuse to get some rally driving practise in :P

What’s on the cards for the week ahead?

Tomorrow, have some clients in the arvo, and the rest of the week at the moment looks fairly cruisy, a few clients each day, but all in all not too bad…. yet! :D

Well, time to go and watch some tellie, have had a snooze when I got home.

Nite
