Wow, what a frikken busy start to the week.

2 days starting at 5am and finishing after 8pm cannot be good…… *yawn*

Well, I guess I shouldn’t complain that I have the work, but hey, having it spread out would be nice.

Another busy one tomorrow, not so much the 5am starts that I have started becoming a custom to, but a busy day none the less.

This evening have just had a computer dropped on me that was involved in the Kinglake bushfires. It’s a little worse for ware…. not char grilled, but has been dropped a few times and it’s taken a bit of a beating. Let’s just hope its ok.

On the sister front, sounds like she’s having a ball in the UK - It’s certainly quieter around home. (oh I wonder if i’ll still have an “office” when she gets back :P)

Thing with Lyns are good - I’m really really happy. It’s a great thing being happy. Well, I am usually happy, but this is a different type of happy, hard to explain, just happy :D

I think I am going to declare today F^$%#kwit driver day! Not only did I nearly get run off the road at 5am this morning, but all day, I think everyone on the road was out to kill me!

Hopefully tomorrow not as many people want to kill me :P

Oh, the other thing that has started this week is my wisdom teeth have decided to start to push through :( The gums are starting to get a wee little bit sore and have to go for an X-ray tomorrow to see where my teeth are at and what operation I have to have :S Thank god for Private health insurance.

Well, time to finish some work, …. actually, no time to drink beer and watch TV. I think 17 hours of work for one day is enough.

Wow, what a busy week it has been!

Monday was flat out like a lizard drinking tyring to get as much done before Tuesday, when I was down in Tasmania for a funeral. Wednesday, did some work at MV, popped out to Ben, Strictly Ham, and went out with Lyns in the evening.

Thursday and Friday was spend rolling out a new server to MV and configuring and setting up etc etc. It was surprisingly very smooth, nothing really has been a problem there which is good.

Will be back in there at the sparrows fart on Monday to start addressing any issues they may have.

Today, just doing a few loads of washing, change my linen, clean up a bit, do a bit of invoicing, and then Lyns and I will prolly head out somewhere this evening.

Tomorrow, who knows, hopefully just a quiet one to end the week :)

Next week, another busy one, at MV on Monday and then I take over Rudi’s work as he is off to South Africa on Wednesday.

Well, the load of washing is done, time to hang that up and pop another one on.

Just short of her 29th Birthday, 26th January, Jeanette Porter was killed in a car accident just over a week ago in Tasmania.

Today, I flew down to Launceston, with fellow Scouters from her home group, 2nd Springvale, and fellow riders from Aus.Moto and Netrider, to pay our final respects to Cat.

It was a very early start to the day, up at 4am, at the airport by 5.30 and in Launceston by 7am.

We headded off for breakfast first off with the Aus.Moto/Netrider Crew, then drew a cheque for the funds raised to assist Dale & Wills, and then we headded of to the Church for the 11am Service.

It was great to see so many people at the funeral. Cat really did touch a lot of people. About 300 in all were in attendance, family, friends, Scouters and Motorcyclists, from all over Australia.

There was a bit of havoc after the ceremony, but I won’t go into that here.

The burial was very sad as always, and with the previous goings on in the day, was made even harder.

All in all, a sad and sombre day, but the weather was beautiful, the company was excellent and I’m sure Cat would have wanted it no other way than to see people happy at the wake and celebrating her life.

I express my deepest thanks to the 25 Scouts/Leaders who made the trip down from 2nd Springvale. It was really great to see the Scouting movement so well represented.

As Billy Joel Sang, “Only the good die young” - and Cat was just that, not just good, but great!

Cat, you will be truely missed.

Well, What a week it has been. It’s had it’s ups and it’s downs.

Cat (Jeanette) Motorbike rider and Venturer Leader, was involved in a car accident when a 75 y.o. male had a heart attack at the wheel and drove head on into her car killing her and injuring the 2 passengers.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday in Launceston.

Just trying to tie up some loose ends in the office and see if I can take the day off and scoot down there for the funeral.

R.I.P. Cat - 1978 - 2006

Last night, Lyns and I headed out for din dins to Southbank which was nice, and I gave her her pressie :P A rare John Mayer poster framed with CD :D The look on her face, sensational. If only I had a camera with me.

Tonight, Off to fox hunting with Bryan and Tim, should be an interesting one with a few members down in the team.

The weekend. Have to pop into finish a job tomorrow morning, then have Tim’s going away party in the evening.

Sunday, Its going to be bloody hot and I’ll be in the pool! :D

Well, that’s all for now. Have to go and sort out flights to Tassie.

Well, what a day.

I took a sleeping tablet last night to knock me out and boy did it knock me out!

Gee did it make me feel woozy this morning.

So the motivation level was down today, and I had to go and pick something up that I found for Lyns, that was an absolute rare item, and then I popped over to see Jamie @ Fabric and had a few coffee’s with him, and a great long chat to catch up….. man it was good to have real coffee made by a real barista again.

After that, I was in need of some serious retail therapy to pep me up, so off to Brandsmart I chautled.

Well after a few hours and an absolute hammering of the credit card, I finally went and did some work for the day.

So a much more productive afternoon after I got all that shopping done. Back to the office to tackle some real work and got plenty of that done once the head was cleared.

This evening Adam popped in for a while and we had a good catch up which was good, and now just having a nice relaxing one in bed watching the tennis and having Lyns play a guessing game of what I got her…. ehehehehehh *snickering* (Lyns is not happy for me writing about her… but hey, it’s my blog, so meh! :P)

Ok, off to play more guessing games hehehehehe.

Edit: Man, I just read what I wrote and boy does it make no sense today! Time to get my head checked!!!!

Well, today started all ok. Off to a client this morning, followed by the afternoon in bed watching the Cricket and chatting on MSN.

This evening, off for dinner with Lynsey which was fantastic - The we decided to head to a movie, so off to Crown we went.

Movie was excellent, very funny - Rumour Has It, a movie all about Mrs Robinson and the movie The Graduate. A great laugh and fun movie to see.

Jennifer Aniston played a great role, not the usual blonde dits from friends, and Kevin Costner, the casanova who sleeps with the Grandmother, the Mother and then falls for the daughter aswell.

I rate it 7 stars.

Ok, so that’s the movie bit out of the way.

So come out of the movie, walk back to the car, look at my drivers side and the window is smashed and the GPS unit gone.

So then, the fun began…

Crown Security are a bunch of F#$%king numpties who I don’t think could count to ten if they tried… then again that really doesnt surprise me for Chubb Security Staff.

I then find out that Crown has NO CAMERAS IN CARPARKS so that was going to be little help to me or to the police.

The the police rock up, and they can’t throw any fairy dust around, and therefore can’t print the car.

So all of that out of the way, Dropped Lyns back at her car in Mordialloc and chaulted towards home on the phone to O’Brien glass.

Well that was at 2.10am, I then get told that they would not be able to come out until 5am to my house. So I wondered over to their depot in Notting Hill to make it quicker and meet their tech there.

So that’s all done, 20 minutes on the car at 3.45am and the car has a window again at a whopping cost of $300. (that’s the joys of afterhours callouts…)

So finally home at 4.15, writing this very long winded blog entry….

Well let’s sum up the title…..

The Good - Lynsey, what a fantastic person. A heart of gold, a great friend, funny, intelligent and just wonderful to be around. (Yes, and we are now going out :) )

The Bad - Those mongrel bastards who broke into my car and made me run around until the wee hours of the morning getting the thing fixed.

And everything in between….. well that’s everything mentioned above…

So it’s now 4.35am, and I have to be up in a few hours, so time to get some kip.

Nite

Throughout the history of music, there has been many upon many misenterpreted lyrics to songs.

Some as famous as….

Beatles “Sixty-four”
Misenterperpreted… Will you still need me? Will you still feed me? When I’m six feet four
Actual… Will you still need me? Will you still feed me? When I’m sixty-four

Depeche Mode “Just Can’t Get Enough”
Misenterperpreted… I just can’t get it up
Actual… I just can’t get enough

and of course, we can’t forget our National Anthem…
Misenterperpreted… Australian’s All Love Sausages??? (And one plus two is three….)
Actual… Australian’s All Let Us Rejoice (For we are young and free…)

Well today, this one came up on the net….. Click Here (Not Work Friendly!)

This shows you just how out of context lyrics can be taken, or just how poorly the artists are with diction…

Either way, it cracked me up for the day and that’s all that matters! It’s my blog, and if you don’t like it, go somewhere else :P

Edit: Oh I just realised… I have enabled commenting now, feel free to comment on my blogs :)

Well, I got an urge to download something funny yesterday, so what did I choose… yes, the 12th Man.

Man, I have not heard some of this stuff for years and it’s still sensational!

These guys really show what cricket commentary is all about.

Marvelous…. just marvelous.

Well today, a busy day building a new server for a client. Will do some more on that tomorrow. Few clients to go off and see tomorrow.

SRESU Meeting tonight - we were on track for a world record finish…. and then well…. it finished at 10 o’clock anyways as per usual…..

Now, I am taking out a Jihad on Mosquitos! I am sick and tired of the little F#$@ers biting the living S#$%T out of me! I have discovered mozzie bites in places I didn’t know you could get mozzie bites!
AAAAHHHHHHH The itching!!!!! Die you mozzie bastards!!!! You may take my blood but you’ll never take my freeeeedoooooom!

Well, off to listen to some more of the 12th Man, has got me in tears, just maaaaaaaavelous. :P

Well, at first I thought this whole internet dating thing was a bit of a sham, and then I met a few people … and was like oh my god….. it is a sham! :P …. but then I met some wonderful people and have some great new friends from it. :D

Then I thought, oh, the end is neigh, how can this thing work, it is desparte people looking for more desparate people, this must be a mixture for disaster and hmmmm maybe it is, maybe it isn’t …. who knows really.

Well anyhooo, there is a point for all this aimless rambilng (for a change) :P

Finally, someone I meet who seems wonderful - So will this be one of those stories that ends up on the internet dating sites…. saying how wonderful it is?? Well once again… who knows, but I hope so.

Lynsey, (yes I’m not meeting up with someone who really has a name, unlike all the names you see like Cickybabeforyou69 :P ,which is always one of those things that makes you stop and think…. who the hell am I really talking to :P) and she seems lovely. We have spoken on the phone a few times, and we are going on, well what I guess you could call a “date” next week which should be great. :D

So maybe 2006 will be a good year after all, who knows the single life for Mr G might be over.

Well, enough of the aimless rambling of a mad man and let’s look at what’s on for the week ahead.

This week most clients are back on deck, so I’m expecting the phone to be a bit busier than usual.
Have some runing around to do tomorrow, get some bits and bobs for a server build.

Tuesday - Have to visit some clients, and Wednesday do some web work and the Osteopath, Thurday a few clients, and Friday looks empty at this stage. Actually no it’s not, have to get gear in the afternoon for a Big Noise gig down at Rosebud that I’m sponsoring.

Saturday - well I’m down at Rosebud for this gig that I’m sponsoring for a community red faces gig, and Sunday catching up with Lynsey :)

Well, I think it’s time to jump in the pool and cool off. I’m feeling all hot and sticky after the heat today.

Have a good week y’all!

Jan 06

Well we’re one week down on 2006, and so far, so good.

Ye old back is feeling better this week, all being well, I’ll be able to be back on the bike in no time.

Work has got off to a good start, plenty to keep busy, so what looks like a good year ahead.

Went and got the Emiliana Torrini album today which I have been looking for for about 3 weeks but no one seemed to have it. So anyhoo, today while the car wheels were being realigned, I wondered up to Shoppingtown and Sanity had the case but no CD, but never fear, The Pines Sanity had the CD which they found before Christmas when I was there.

So one store for the CD and the other for the case, and finally I have the CD. So much for accurate stock levels.

The other thing I lashed out on today was some new scented candles for the office. They are great, Mango and Orange, and Coffee….ummmmmmmmm ccooooooffffeeeeee!

So that should bring some positive cheer from the east or something like that.

What’s on for the weekend? So far nothing planned, but who knows, that could change.

I hope everyone had a good new year, and that this one is a great one too.
