Well I’m kinda cheating right now and pre-writing this… but, you don’t really know that so it’s all goood! :P

In Part 2 of The Year That Was 2006, we’ll be looking at March, April and May.

March
Well March saw me taking my first taking real holiday in about 2 years taking a trip up to Daylesford for the weekend getting nice and relaxed and pampered and coming back a stressed out nightmare! :P

I acutally got my new bike which was great and went to a Microsoft conference which was a complete waist of time.

It was the month that the Victorian State Government spent 1.1 billion dollars on an event that was supposed to “thrill the world”… last time I checked I was part of that world, and all it did for me was give me a damn headache with god awful traffic and traffic fines!

I spent a rediculous amount of money on the new un-released Whitlams album… yes, I am a ebayaholic, and more so a Whitlams nut!

I sold man bag, compeated in the John Moyle Field Day and celebrated my first St. Patricks Day.

April

April started off with a dose of F**kwit Friday, a purchase of a bucketload of CD’s as a bit of retail therapy, and me thinking that I would actually be better back working for someone else.

April I got a year older and well I guess I got a bit wiser aswell, I spent a lot of time on the road.

Other than that, April was a pretty shit boring month.

May
Well may was the month that the blog went kaaaaaaaaaa splat!

It was a month of massive ups and well a little down too.

It was the Whitlams month to the max with the tour at Wellers and the Corner hotel all in the one week which was just great!

It was the month that the Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride really took off in a big way.

And it was the month that Lynsey and I broke up on the night of the Whitlams concert, which made all the pain just magically disappear.

We won the Victorian Fox Hunting Champs again, and then the blog just went splatto splatto.

More to come soooon (once I can piece together the 6 moths I didn’t blog :P )

Well, over the next few days I thougt I might just review the year that was 2006. Seeing that there was about 6 months missing out of my life, well my online life at least, I thought it would probably take me more than the one night that I usually take to fill out the blog entry titled The Year That Was 2006.

2006 was certainly an interesting one… so let’s start tonight with say, January and February.

January
Ahh, the birds were singing the sun was shining and 2006 was the year of drunken nights in front of the computer and something that posessed me to sign up to the world of online dating :P

We had bushfires in Kinglake and my back was in much the same state that it is in right now.

It was the month that love was in the air and I made my internet dating debut with Lynsey, I took a jihad out against mosquitos, and I quoted a few misquoted songs from throughout the years.

Depeche Mode “Just Can’t Get Enough”
Misenterperpreted… I just can’t get it up
Actual… I just can’t get enough

It was the month that my car was broken into, I did plenty of aimless rambling in my blog from the looks of it and I lost a dear friend who died in a car accident in Tasmania, to which Scouters and Bike Riders came together for the trip to Tasmania for the Funeral.

February

Feb started on the sad note from Jan. The memorial service with the bikers and Scouts who couldn’t make it to Tasmania. It was great to have everyone coming together. Just shows the support that being in some great communities can bring.

I went to the zoo for the first time in many years which was good, and had took the old bike “Man Bag” for a scream through Yarra Glen for a game of chasy with a nice big SV1000 :D

And out of the blue, I went and dropped a shitload of money on my new pride and joy, My SV650S :D

Well that’s 2 months in wrap up for one night, stay tuned for March, April and oh well May as well what the hell. All that and more tomorrow!

For me, it’s off to watch some more idiot box, have another glass of red, and chill out….(as if I haven’t done enough of that over the last 4 days!) After the 2nd day off I didn’t know what the hell to do with myself!

Off to clients all day tomorrow, and will be trying to squeeze 5 days into 3 for the rest of the week.

Have a great week y’all.

A little something I wrote to celebrate the festive season :)

The 12 Days of Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas,
some spammer sent to me
Twelve penis enlargements,
Eleven viagra tablets,
Ten mortage reductions,
Nine hot teen lesbians,
Eight nigerian scams,
Seven cheap medications,
Six random porn sites,
Five more penis enlargements,
Four dodgy software sites,
Three more viagra site,
Two mm of rain :P,
And a partridge in a pear tree! (ran out of things…. but there was more viagra and penis enlargements in there somewhere that I’m sure I missed! :P )

Well we might break for a holiday, but those bastard spammers seem to just keep going and going. I woke up this morning to more spam in the inbox to what I usually get of a morning and man oh man, they have even Christmas themed them. I can now get viagra to put the Christmas cheer back in my love life! Woo Hoo!

These guys are just unbelievable. I wonder what they got from Santa for Christmas. What I hope they got is a snap kick to the head and some Viagra, Hot Teen Lesbians, A Few Nigerian Scams, Some Dodgy software and all the other shit they send out. But knowing my luck, they got a whole list of new open mail relays, some more bandwidth and a new computer to boot! (grumble grumble grumble!)

Well, on a happier note, I hope that everyone has had a great day. I have spent the most of it just chilling out. It was great to wake up this morning to find that it has been raining all night and the stoms throughout the day were just great. Something that we have not seen in Melbourne for about 3 weeks.

Last night headed out to the movies with Bronwyn for our second year of Christmas Eve movies. Man was it PACKED! …. ok, we were the only people in the cinema…. and we did it in style. I managed to smuggle in a lovely bottle of Margaret River 04 Shiraz, some camembert and gluten free crackers and some corn chips. La Premier eat your heart out! So after the movie, I popped into to see Ben, Kristie, Vanessa & Keith to wish them happy jihad….. I mean Merry Christmas, always get those ones mixed up, watched some of the carols, spread the cheer and headed on home.

So all in all, a pretty good Christmas.

Tomorrow, do a few bits of invoicing in the morning as I ran out of paper earlier on and couldn’t finish invoicing, and have to get some pain killers for my poor back which is killing me at the moment. Then I’ll prolly plant myself back infront of the tellie to catch some of the Boxing Day Test Match. Let’s just hope that the weather holds out for that.

Well, time to clean up the kitchen from dinner, made some yummo chicken and mash, now time for a glass of red and crash on the couch to watch what ever crap the TV networks decide to put on.

Well according to blonde jokes, today’s title referrs to shoes… “Toes Go In First”, but alas, no, I am referring to the fact that it is Friday and Thank God for It!

What a week it has been. I have not felt this tired in a very long time. Just glad that I now don’t have to Adelaide to work this weekend as I think that would have been an absolute killer.

So what’s on the cards for the weekend… well sleep, sleep and more sleep sounds mighty fine actually, but no, no such luck!
Tomorrow may be a quick trip up to Elmore to drop some bits and pieces on the Jamboree site, and if that doesn’t happen, then it will be a bit of a sleep in, build 8 computers and a server and then that is one more thing off the list for next week and might allow some time to just chill out for a few days! Hurrah!

I think my poor liver is revolting against me from the mass overdose of alcohol in the last few weeks. Nearly every client I have been to this week has been sitting around drinking all day, and have been offered grog at nearly every one of them, and have been invited to join in on the festivities with clients, so man am I glad this whole Christmas thing is nearly all over! Bahhh Humbug! :P

Well, I have still not done one bit of shopping, and the enthusiasm to go and fight the thousands at the shopping centres really isn’t there. I went to go and get my mail from the post office the other day, drove into the car park, faught with crazy christmas shoppers to get a car park, didn’t bother, and drove out and came back at 10pm to get my mail when I knew that I would get a car spot. People just get stupid and dangerous at this time of year. Grrrrrrrrrr…..

Any hoo, on a good front, this week has been a week of music. Australian music to be precise.
Picked up a couple of Blue King Brown CD’s, A young lass from WA by the name of Saritah, Australian punk princess Sarah McLeod (not that punky really but it sounds good :P), A funky band featuring the likes of Nicky Bomba called Banana Oil and out of South Australia, The Audreys… and I think that’s about it. (God bless online retail therapy! :D )

Some great suff in there to keep me going thru the crazy season.

Anyway, time to put the computer down, crank up the music and chill out for a while.

Merry Christmas Y’all (Bahhh Humbug :P)

A weekend of work and fun in the sun.

Saturday spent most of the morning catching up on work from during the week and then the afternoon was spent out with the Netrider crew for the Christmas Party. Went across to visit Lenna in the afternoon at the rehab centre with the Netrider crew to give her a surprise and swap Kris Kringle presents. And then the evening was spent over at Debs swapping KK Pressies with the rest of the Netriders. So all in all, Saturday was a very busy day with the Netriders.

Sunday was much the same in the morning, worked up until about 4pm, then popped over to a client to drop some goods off. After that, went for a nice long ride. Kangaroo Ground > Yarra Glen > Chum Creek Road > Myers Creek Road > Healesville to see Sean @ Barrique Wine Store to grab a few bottles before Chrissy. Then a nice leisurely ride along Maroondah Highway home.

Came home to finish off a bit more work, cooked up a mean lamb curry for dinner and now relaxing on the couch before having a nice early night.

Off to Adelaide for work tomorrow, a nice early start. Have to be at the airport by 6.30am and I get back to Melbourne in the late afteroon at this stage.

The rest of the week will be pretty hectic getting a few jobs out before Christmas, and arranging jobs for over Christmas / New Year.

Which category do I find sleep under on Ebay?

I have looked and looked and I still can’t find it!

Well the last few weeks have been rather hectic. With all that’s going on at the moment with work, jamboree and everything else in between, sleep has been really low on the list, and today, it has really hit me.

So why are you blogging at 11.30 you ask? Well of all things, now I’m not feeling overly tired. Well I am, but just not sleepy tired…. mentally tired……. *yawn*

Well the silly season is certainly upon us. I have not done one iota of Christmas shopping, and as much as I hate to do it, I think ill be one of the f**k knuckle wankers fighting everyone at Chadstone on Chrismas Eve :P

I don’t think ill be buying too many pressies for this year but never the less, I still have to get time to do it.

Tomorrow, more running around like a blue assed fly, see some new clients, see some old clients, put out some more fires, and then if the rain clears up, YES ITS RAINING!, I might get out on the bike.

Now, these fires, man oh man, it’s baaad.
I’ve been watching the maps here and if you go through day by day, then you can see just how big the fire front has got in the last 7 days. I really take my hat off to those who get out there and fight the fires, it takes a certain type of person to do it.

This weekend… Well unfortunately, it looks like it will be work for a lot of it. I just have so much on at the moment that needs to get out before Christmas, that working the weekends is the only way to get on top of things. Once next week is all over, then I think the few days over Christmas will be a few days of rest…. well one can only deam ey’ ;)

Well, time to watch the end of the John Foreman junk that they call late night TV, (anything is better than Hot Dogs!) and catch some ZzzzzzzZzZz.

Dec 08

Well, another week down, and what a week it has been. Things are heating up with work at the moment and it looks like it is going to be a very very busy Christmas / New Year period.

January is already shaping up to be a reasonable month which all being well should hopefully flow on to the rest of the months for the year :D

Went out to Southbank this evening on the bike and man oh man was it good to be back on the bike. The service and new tyres have made a world of difference.

With the weekend being super hot, I think there will be a bit of trying to keep cool in order. Other than that, A client tomorrow arvo, a bit of Jamboree organisation and some rest :)

Sunday is the annual MRA Toy Run, so if the weather is okay, then i’ll head off to that on Sunday morning and do my bit for the Salvos and might get out for a bit of a ride after that. Given that it is due to be 33 degrees on Sunday, I think that I’ll just play it by ear and see what happens. If it’s 33 then there will be a lot of over heating bikes and dehydrated people. Not the safest weather to be riding in.

Other than that, the week has been pretty good.

G

Dec 03

Well, what a fun weekend it has been @ the Kona 24hr.

It was certainly dusty, dry and warm, but a good weekend all round. Not too many casualties which is always good.

Got a fair bit of riding on the quad bike which was good fun, even if it was running around like a blue assed fly trying to get a commercial repeater to work.

I am sneezing my head off this evening, even after having a shower and un-dusting, but I think I have inhaled so much dust that it is all sitting on my sinuses.

Well last week wasn’t a bad one. Fairly busy leading into the silly season. Looks like the end of the year will be a good one.

What’s on for the week ahead?
What looks like another good week at this stage.
A bit of running around to do tomorrow morning, lunch with a client tomorrow and then some more running around in the afternoon.
Tuesday the car is getting some new tyres put on and then I have to do some more work on a few websites that I’ve been working on. Who knows what Wednesday will turn into and what will happen for the rest of the week. But I’m sure it will all pan out to be not too bad.

Well, time to hang up the load of washing that’s just finished, and then start thinking about dinner, although at the moment, I can’t stop sneezing, so I think dinner will be on the back burner for a few more hours.
